Dream Dictionary

Most often people start their dream conversation by saying: "I had this weird dream …" What makes it "weird" is the strange collection of people, objects, places and events that take place in the dream.

Have you ever had a dream where you see a symbol or the same symbol keeps appearing? You are left wondering what does it mean and why do I dream with these symbols. Well to help you understand your dreams better and to make sense out of the symbols appearing having a dream dictionary can help. A dream dictionary tries to explain what a symbol COULD mean.

A dream dictionary symbol might describe it as so and so. When you read that you might think it has nothing to do with your dream. No the dream dictionary is there as a guide where you can understand what the symbol represents and then consider how that symbol reflects in your dreams.

Let's imagine our dream symbol is a car. The dream dictionary advises the car may represent a possession, travel or control. That's a very broad range to consider. When you look at the symbol and the description of the symbol you can correlate it with your circumstances.

Maybe you will travel, maybe you have lost control of a situation or you are in control of the situation or basically you just wish for a new car. As you can see it is an individual concept that only you can put into place.

Most times you will not need a dream dictionary to help you analyze your dreams or interpret your dream. You may very know from your instinct exactly what the symbol means.  Refer to a dream dictionary only when you need and remember to take the description with a grain of salt, no dream dictionary is definitive.

The Correct way to use Dream Symbols

When you dream it may be just a pleasant harmless dream re-living the day or an enjoyable moment. Other dreams mean something and these are the dreams you become aware of. You write down what you recall in your dream such as where you were, what did you see and hear, what was around you, what symbols did you see and how you felt emotionally.

For the symbols in your dream they can be broken down into the four main elements.  Of course a dream dictionary can provide more detail but for the purposes of this page we will stay with the four elements.

Water - can indicate how you feel about your emotional self, your intuition, your self confidence or your feelings of your own self worth.

Air - can indicate indicates your character, your thoughts and plans for the future or the present day.

Earth - can indicate you, that is the person you are, your character, how your friends view you, how you feel about living in reality, your positive nature to meeting today's challenges and the foundations you have set in life.

Fire - can indicate your spiritual and psychic force, the drive with inside you to achieve a task, your passion when you face a task and the ingenuity you use and develop to complete that task.

By looking for your symbols in your dreams you can get a feeling of what they are trying to say to you and in what area of your life you refer.

When using a dream dictionary ensure it is from a reputable source as there are many bogus claims made in some dictionaries.
